Tips for Your Ride

  • Weather: Pack for all seasons — it can change fast!

  • Water: Bring plenty to stay hydrated.

  • Phone Signal: Can be patchy in places, so download maps beforehand.

  • Respect Nature: Leave no trace, and be mindful of local wildlife and livestock.

  • Single Track Roads: Keep to the left and use the passing places to allow traffic to pass. Keep single file

1. Fionnphort to Knockvologan

A scenic, gentle ride (5 miles return).

Highlights: Beautiful beaches, turquoise waters at Knockvologan, Fidden Campsite and views to Erraid.

Food Stop: The Creel Seafood Bar in Fionnphort – grab a fresh seafood lunch. Island Eats serves up breakfasts.

2. Iona Loop

Catch the ferry across with your bike (foot passengers only allowed on ferry, bikes go free).

Explore the Abbey, beaches, and quiet tracks of Iona.

Note: Mostly flat and perfect for a relaxed ride.

Food Stop: Argyll Hotel or St Columba Larder on Iona for tea, coffee, or lunch.

3. Fionnphort to Bunessan

A longer option (6 miles one way) along rolling hills and sea views.

Highlights: Rugged cliffs, lochs, and Mull’s wild scenery.

Food Stop: The Lazy Cow at Kintra for lunch or The Reef in Bunessan for Dinner – hearty meals and home baking.

4. Beach Hop Adventure

Visit Uisken Beach, Ardalanish, and Traigh Ghael for a full day of cycling and swimming.

Mix of gravel and road – mountain bikes or ebikes recommended.

Don’t forget your camera and swimwear!
